This is an area to describe the details of the event. Or you could have any information in here really, it just doesn't matter all that much. But the real test of an area like this is how much text it can actually hold. I mean, surely there must be limits. Right? Well if there are we sould probably display a Link Style.

Haiti

St. David's began developing a relationship with Haiti and Reverend Frederic Menelas in 2012. Rev. Menelas is the priest in charge of St. Sacrement Church which is part of the Episcopal diocese. St. Sacrement Church has 250 worshipers and a school that has twelve teachers, two staff, one Headmaster and approximately 180-200 students ranging in age from ages three to  eleven, in grades kindergarten to sixth grade. St. Sacrement received a 2013 grant from St. David's in the amount of $3,500 to be used for a project at the church school. We will continue to fund the repair of the Sacristy that was damaged during the 2010 earthquake.

We continue to explore ways that we can help to make Christ known by sharing our resources with those in need. We traveled to meet our partner in September — read more and see photos in the trip blog.

The vestry of St. Mathias provided the following video greeting to the vestry and people of St. David’s. We give thanks for the partnership God has brought together between our two communities:

Louise Haley, Teri Santivasci, and the Rev. Matt Dayton-Welch returned Monday (August 22, 2016) from their mission trip to Haiti, where St. David’s has a longstanding outreach partnership.  They spent time in Port au Prince and Grand Colline, in the rural southern mountains, with the Episcopal congregation of St. Mathias and their rector, Fr. Fred Menelas.  St. David’s next month will begin supporting a school feeding program at St. Mathias, providing meals for more than 400 students, most of whom are affected by daily food insecurity.

Please take a moment to view the pictures from their trip, below:
