Family Ministries - Youth Group FAQ's
Who are these events intended for?
EVERYONE!! If you are a youth like having fun, you are welcome to St. DYG!! If you would like to come to any of our events, feel free to either give us a call for Directions (if you need them) or simply just show up at our Youth Meetings.
REVEAL (grades 5-6) meet for Big Events once a month.
ROC (grades 7-8) meet 1st and Third Wednesdays of each month.
REAL LIFE (grades 9-12) meet every Tuesday night.
We realize most people find it most comfortable to come with friends, so we invite you and a friend to come if that is best.
Do I need to let someone know if I'm going to attend?
No, not for weekly youth group meetings. Please do inform us of your plans to attend our larger youth events, such as retreats, missions trips and monthly big events. We offer early bird discounts for advance sign ups and deposits. This assists us in our planning of the event and allows you to receive a nice reduction in price.
Do I need a Medical/Waiver Form?
If the event that you are attending requires leaving the church premises, you will need the St. David's Church waiver form. Waiver forms only need to be filled out once a school year. You may download a church waiver form and complete prior to arriving at the event, or we will have blank forms available for you to fill out and be signed by your parent upon arrival.
Here are some of the most common questions that surface when getting involved with St. David's Youth Group:
Do I have to be an actual member at your church to attend?
Not at all!! Some of our youth are members but many of them are not. We want you to come and be a part of our community without having to be a member.
If I belong to another church (or if I'm involved in another youth group) then can I still come to your group?
ABSOLUTELY!!! We are not here to compete with your home church, but welcome you to any of our events. We do not close our doors to anyone.
What if I don't believe everything your group believes or what if I'm not sure what I believe? Can I still come?
Please come! We understand that you may not believe all that we believe. In fact, many of our youth are at varying stages of their faith. Many believe in Christ; some are not sure what they believe, but they're interested. All of us have questions. The church as a whole, along with its leaders, believes that which is written in the Who We Are link, and we make no attempt to hide our beliefs. We welcome everyone at all stages of their journeys.
